A quick 10-minute drawing is the perfect assessment of my new students' skills. I encourage them to draw anything! From a cartoon character to their favorite animal, I just want to see their pencil come alive on a brightly colored Post-it note! Can't wait to see these hung all together as a collective picture!

This summer with the help of family and friends, I was able to transform my new home at Garden Hills into a colorful, light, and air space! It is ready for kids endless art projects!
Life Steps
by Catherine Pulsifer Our entire life is made up choices, What we decide the action we take, the attitude we display All represent the steps of life. Sometimes we take two steps forward And one-step back. Some of us take baby steps Some of us take giant steps But the secret is not to let that one step back turn into a failure. Learn from backward steps And keep on stepping forward in the dance Called Life! As we all step into different stages of life, I wish my Five Forks family the best. Keep in touch! Peace and Love, Dr. Erickson instagram: flybyart [email protected] As we wrap up another school year, the artists in the art club finished there canvas painting, dined on delicious doughnuts, and rocked their tie dye tshirts! I am so honored to have worked with 22 amazing students as we explored our creative sides inside and outside of school!
Students are given a drawing challenge with a game of sketchbook bingo. They are to draw five pictures from the board to create BINGO! Check out this talent student's masterpiece!
End of the year is still full of work and creative wonders! Check out the watercolor paintings of these amazing hybrid animals. Students were challenged to fuse two different species together, craft a habitat, and think about special characteristics of these new creatures.
An amazing night of art in our Cluster! I could not have been more proud of our students at Five Forks! In addition to these awesome students, Five Forks alumni represented a great deal of the High school work! #proudartteacher
7th and 8th grade students created a playing card inspired by a cartoon character. Students used a light table to rotate the image 180 degrees, added patterns, and used analogous color schemes with tempera paint. These colorful creations are splashed all over the cafeteria for a game of poker!
The kilns are loaded and the shelves are stacked with student work! Over spring break, they will air dry. When we return let's fire up the clay! Happy week off!
