Our 1st grade artists traveled to New Mexico to discover the Pueblo Indians. We studied their culture and customs. Did you know they used adobe, a type of clay, to build their houses! We made clay houses, too. Then added paint and displayed them in the front of our school! Hope you like our colorful clay creations. Our 5th grade artist wrapped up our inspiration mural! This wall is temporary because of the NEW addition being added to our school. The construction guys hung the wood and primed the surface. NO boring white walls at Alcova! Great job Scottie, Kaya, Gabby, Luna, Ian, Vanessa, and Norma. Your hardwork over two months really added a bright spot to our hallways! The art room was all a buzz in the month of November as we wrapped up our projects from New Orleans. Mark your calender for February 6 to celebrate our Mardi Gras Art Show and Literacy Night! In the mean time, we are moving onto our next stop on the Alcova Road Trip...NEW MEXICO! Check out the 2nd grade artists collage aliens...do you believe the rumors of UFO's in Roswell, New Mexico? |
