Our 1st grade students have caught up with their fellow artist of Alcova in New Orleans. We are studying the architecture of shotgun houses! Check out our chalkboard drawings and Popsicle stick houses! Awesome job 1st grade! Our 3rd grade students are cruising down to New Orleans, Louisana to catch up with their 5th grade friends and study local artist George Rodrigue! Sarah Street went home the next night looking for her Friday ice cream money and found the Louisana state quarter! She shared it with us in art today! Sarah said, "It even has a brown pelican! The state bird, remember?" So fabulous when kids make connections to lessons and are excited about learning and sharing!!! Happy Friday :) Our 5th grade students are off to the first stop on our RoAD TRiP! Here we come Louisana! The home of JAZZ music. For first layer of paint, students are using abstract art to interpret jazz music. Abstract art focuses on lines, shapes, and colors with no specific subject! Can't wait to see unusual sounds through art! Vroom! Zoom! Beep! Beep! Our Kindergarten and 1st grader artists are making the finishing touches with words that make sounds for their cars. Look for these finished pieces in the hallways soon! |
