Today 6th grade students finished working on their shadow boxes! They used proportional ratios to draw a building of their choice to scale! The outcomes were tremendous!

6th grade studies are studying four countries from their social studies curriculum: Germany, England, Russia, and Italy. Students are looking at the architecture of specific cities and drawing scale drawing to create shadow boxes. Abrielle shared a coster her dad brought back from a business trip to Germany! Amazing art and great connections!
Our 7th and 8th grade students practice scale drawing with animals and teapots, but now we are elevating our work to Presidential greatness. Students are working in teams of three to use a 1:4 ratio to enlarge portraits of the 44 Presidents. Being an election year, serious debates are happening over art!
